We held a group plein air session in a beautiful forest with centuries-old beech trees so large you can’t wrap your arms around them, and rhododendrons. It gave us a burst of inspiration for future creativity.
This forest is located in an ancient region of the Netherlands. Here, old forests still remain, interspersed with heather-covered moorlands. To preserve such a forest, one had to be Dutch. In this small country with one of the highest population densities in Europe, truly beautiful and vast forests and fields coexist wonderfully, and one doesn’t feel trapped in concrete jungles. Of course, many of the forests have been planted, but there are still areas preserved from old times—this beautiful region where you can enjoy nature and see many birds and animals. And the best part is that it’s located very close to human habitation, and people love to walk here while trying to treat nature with care.
